Figures show that 49% of Black women who had an abortion in 2012 had a previous abortion. A National Survey of Sexual Attitudes & Lifestyles (NATSAL) in 2000 reported significantly lower contraceptive use by non-married Black women and Caribbean women compared to white women, and less use of hormonal and permanent methods compared with barrier methods.
