Driving is a much-needed skill in 21st century society. However, learning to drive can be a pain, time consuming and expensive, let alone finding a suitable instructor. Luckily for us all, Martin Caswell has the way we’ve all been looking for, an easier one.The book is not written to get you through the test alone but offers an ‘easier way to learn to drive’, helping learners to pass their GCSE in driving at A Level standard.
‘Whether you are just thinking about learning to drive, your provisional licence is in the post or you are preparing to take your test, this book will make sure you know your way around a car and around the roads.’
No one really starts driving as a beginner, as Martin points out: ‘by using what you already know as a road user – even as just a pedestrian or cyclist – you are already well on your way to becoming a confident driver’.
Full of illustrations and real-life examples, Martin’s book guides you before you’ve even set foot in the driver’s seat, through your learning process and into your future as a safe and skilled driver.
Martin’s greatest teachers are not teachers themselves, but his students, in his book, he represents everything he has learnt about leaning to drive. His students found him, ‘calm and patient’ and an ‘amazing’ instructor.
“Martin was a great instructor and I will recommend him to anyone who wishes to become a confident and skilled driver.”
– Megan B.
I passed my driving test today all thanks to Martin, he was an amazing instructor, really made me feel confident and ready, he says it was team effort but without his help I would not have passed today. I would highly recommend him to anyone, thank you again Martin”
– Kyle Vallance, Woolton Hill
Martin is a very patient and experienced driving instructor and I would recommend him to anyone! He doesn’t just teach you how to pass your test, he teaches you how to drive like an experienced driver would! Thank you for everything.”
– Henry Wheeler, Crux Easton, Highclere
Martin is a fabulous driving instructor! Both my sister and I passed first time under his instruction. Martin is always calm and patient whatever situation arises. I would thoroughly
recommend him.”– Camille Stables – Childrey, Wantage
Martin has taught pupils with dyspraxia, autism and learning difficulties and specialises in teaching those who are anxious or nervous about driving and learning. Teaching people using plain English and simplistic methods, means they gain confidence and competence quickly, needing fewer driving lessons to reach a safe and competent standard.
One student battling with anxiety over driving, says,
After 9 years battling with anxiety over driving I decided I would have one last attempt at restarting how to drive. All I can say is, I wish I knew Martin sooner. [He’s] very calm and understanding. Best of all, I passed first time.”
– Stacy Rush, Newbury
About Martin Caswell

Martin Caswell uses the same analogies in his book as those in his classes, finding that using stories helps his students to remember why a specific action needs to be taken.
There are no rules to driving, everything you do is done for a reason. Therefore, the reasons are the rules.”
Martin has also worked with a hypnotherapist to create an audio series called ‘Banish those driving test nerves’, which is available for download and as an App to complement Martin’s classes and now, the new book.
