Those who follow @jamesdfmellor on Twitter will be aware that historical figures and events often creep into his cartoon commentaries of the dayÔÇÖs events and his illustrations are popular with teachers as resources for history lessons. There are rumours that his pictures are popular with their students too.

A history graduate from the University of York, James has always possessed a passion for the past. Drawn From History is JamesÔÇÖ first book and has allowed him to fully deploy his professional cartooning ability in his favourite setting, viewing BritainÔÇÖs past with a sharp, sideways slant. James lives in Rushden, Northamptonshire with his wife Rachel and a small, sociopathic cat.
