Filament Publishing is actively looking to publish new authors in the field of Personal Development, training or motivation. We also work in the Direct Sales marketplace and with leaders of Network marketing and MLM groups.

Many of our authors are trainers, coaches, or platform presenters who sell their books to audiences at events or to their own client base. In addition to helping them to publish their works using the latest Print On Demand technology, we make their books available to a wider audience through the retail book trade. All of our titles are published through Gardners, the UK 's largest book wholesaler. They are listed on their database which is also used by W H Smiths, Amazon, Books on Line and all the main bookshops. We also create audio programmes on CD and audio cassette as companion products to the books.

What are the options?

Let us assume that you have written a non fiction book which has a ready market in your particular niche or profession. Your potential sales are realistically going to be measured in hundreds, rather than thousands so how can that possibly be a viable commercial prospect for a major publishing house? Sadly it isn't. So the rejection you may well have been experiencing is nothing to do with your excellent work, but more to do with whether they can make money from you. It's a harsh world out there.

However, every coin has two sides, and although the big publishers may have a blinkered outlook, it doesn't mean that you don't still have a viable project, and a vehicle to generate a realistic return for all your efforts. It just means that you need to look at things in a different way and to maybe take more ownership of the process. Surprisingly, the process is not difficult or complicated but you have to look at is as a serious business venture, know what you are trying to achieve, and have a plan.
